Welcome to the Adriatic’s Treasures

"Tourist valorisation of historical venues in the Interreg Areas Italy – Adriatic"

Project co-funded by the EU Fund for Regional Development Under the Interreg IIIA Adriatic Cross Border Programme – CARDS – PHARE (NPPA) – acronym I.TES.A.

The "Adriatic's Treasures" is a project approved and sponsored by the European Community with the European fund for regional development of the INTERREG areas. The project began on February 1st, 2007, aims at the tourist valorisation of historical venues along the whole Adriatic Sea.

The programme, conceived and co-ordinated by the "Ville Venete & Castelli" Association, involves the Italian region overlooking the Adriatic's sea and the Cultural Ministries of Serbia, Montenegro and Albany.

THE REGIONS INVOLVED

The Project involves all the seven Italian regions overlooking the Adriatic as well as the Ministeries of Culture of Serbia, Montenegro and Albany.
I.TES.A. network represents a unique, homogeneous reality which main purpose is to stand out on the international tourism market highlighting the historical, artistic and architectural beauties of a territory especially marked and influenced by the Serenissima Republic of Venice. But also once belonging to the House of Hapsburg, to the Pontifical State, to the Normans and to the Borboni, Svevi, Angioini families. This network gives to some still underprivileged areas - along the Italian and Croatian coast or in the internal regions of Serbia, Albany and Montenegro – the possibility to promote themselves together with some more famous tourist destinations, taking advantage of their already known and coordinated image.
The balcanic regions in particular will be able to enrich their offer with the beautiful natural and artistic resources of their territory, mostly of which still wait to be discovered.
